TWD's Norman Reedus recalls his final day with co-star Scott Wilson
The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus fondly remembers his last day with former co-star Scott Wilson, who played Hershel Green on the series.

"The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus recalls his final days with co-star Scott Wilson before Wilson's death in 2018. Reedus played Daryl Dixon on the show from season 1, and Wilson played Hershel Green's main character from season 2 to season 4. When they lived in him in season 2 Hershel served as the group's moral compass while in prison in seasons 3 and 4, and his execution by the governor marked a dark turn for the show's protagonist.
Speaking with another former co-star Jon Bernthal about Wilson's real person on the Jon Bernthal podcast, Reedus talks about the last time he saw him former "The Walking Dead" co-star. He discusses snippets of Wilson's early acting career with Wilson, doing his best to cheer up his friend at the end of his life. Check out what Reedus had to say about Wilson below:
I think because I didn't know my dad as much as I would have liked to, when I find guys that I really respect of that age, I f---ing stick to them. I did it with Kris Kristofferson....I just love them. Scott was so open, he was so honest. The last time I saw Scott was at his house. We were all at his house and we were watching his In Cold Blood audition. And he's sitting there next to me and he can't speak very well. We're sitting there watching, the room's totally quiet, and I looked over at him and he looked over at me, and I go 'you're such a f---ing asshole.' And he just starts laughing. I regretted not being able to come to his funeral. He died on the same day my daughter was born, and I couldn’t go, because we were in labor.
What's Next For Norman Reedus In The Walking Dead Universe?

The way Reedus talks about the last time he saw Wilson emphasizes the deep friendship between the two men. Long after Wilson left the series, Reedus became one of the show's enduring characters, and the two's friendship continued to transcend their time Together series. It's clear that Wilson's performance was also a major inspiration for Reedus, as audiences may know from his performance as Darryl in the upcoming spinoff of the Walking Dead universe of the same name.
After The Walking Dead, Reedus will return as Darryl Dixon, sparse details from the series suggest Daryl will arrive in France due to unknown forces and will seek his way home. It's unclear how Daryl will try to get back overseas. However, casting announcements suggest he will be teaming up with Isabel, a member of a progressive religious group with a mysterious past. It's also not known who brought Daryl to France and for what reason, although it's been speculated that sprawling CRM may be behind his arrest. Not only did they capture Rick Grimes in season 9, episode 5, but Reedus also revealed that Daryl didn't go to France of his own free will.
Daryl's next chapter in The Walking Dead may also see him face off against a dangerous new Walker variant. The end of another spin-off, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, reveals the presence of fast-moving, aggressive zombies Paris. Daryl may face these new forms of walkers as he tries to unravel the mystery of why he was in France and how he returned home. Fighting these new threats alongside Isabel helps introduce new beloved characters and actors to the world of The Walking Dead. Reedus' moving reminiscence of his last day with Wilson shows how The Walking Dead brought together many different actors to create a compelling zombie world.
