Spider-Man Fans Are Calling For The Missing Spider-Man Character We Need
Spider-Man fans are calling out the missing Spider-Man character who needs to appear in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's many variants.

Spider-Man fans are calling for missing Spider-Man characters who need to appear in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Miles Morales' story will continue when Sony Pictures releases Into the Spider-Verse in 2023. Following the massive success of Into the Spider-Verse, the animated series is diving into the multiverse concept. While the story centers on Miles' latest adventure as a web-thrower of his world, he'll also encounter allies old and new. The sequel upped the ante, as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced even more versions of the web crawler. Originally slated for release this fall, Sony delayed the animated sequel in order to do more work on the film.
Following the release of the new Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse trailer, which reveals more Spider-Man variants, fans are still speculating on who else will appear in the film. Given the sheer scope of the Spider-Verse in the comics, there could be dozens of new variants. However, in a discussion thread on Reddit, fans really wanted to see a special variant of Spider-Man - Supaidaman, the Japanese Spider-Man from the 1970s live-action show. Previously, Through the Spider-Verse producer Phil Lorde hinted at a Japanese Spider-Man, and apparently, fans still want it to happen. Check out their conversation below:
All The Spider-Man Characters Already Confirmed For Across The Spider-Verse

In addition to Miles himself, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will see both old and new variants arrive. Returning from the first film are Spider-Gwen and Peter B. Parker, who become Miles' two new allies while he's still discovering his abilities. Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, will also play a major role in the sequel after making his debut in the first film's end credits scene. The new villain set to appear in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is Jonathan Ohne, better known as The Spot, making his film debut.
But with the arrival of the new antagonist, there are multiple variants of Spider-Man, many of which are featured in the latest trailer. Jessica Drew and Hobart Brown, Spider-Man and Spider-Man respectively, will play central roles in the sequel. Spider-Man from the Insomniac video game series is also featured in the latest footage. Other confirmed cameos include Super Spider-Man, Werewolf Spider-Man, and Spider-Monkey. A short iteration of Spider-Man Unlimited is also included in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Pavitr Prabhakar, aka Indian Spider-Man, confirmed via concept art. Some form of The Spectacular Spider-Man can also be seen in the latest poster.
To say that the animation team in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse exceeded expectations would be an understatement. While most of the variants that appear are likely just cameos, it shows just how much they've tapped into the Spider-Man mythology. Given that a female Spider-Verse spinoff is in the works, it wouldn't be surprising if additional offshoot projects were made after the new sequel. Depending on how either of them are received, it'll be interesting to see spinoffs with new variants to help expand the franchise. With the original ambition of making the sequel as big as Avengers: Endgame, time will tell what comes after Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
