New Sandman episode script gets update from Neil Gaiman
Neil Gaiman has updated scripts for new Sandman episodes, including ones currently being written, in which he also contributes.

Neil Gaiman has updated the script for the new Sandman episode. Based on Gaiman's comic book series of the same name, The Sandman was adapted into an exclusive Netflix series that premiered on the streaming service in August. The fantasy series topped the Netflix charts for weeks and even briefly overtook season 4 as Netflix's most popular show between August 8 and 14. While The Sandman has received critical acclaim and has remained a fan favorite ever since, it was only recently revealed in November that the show had been renewed for new episodes. There are no release dates for the new episodes yet, but they are expected to debut sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.
In his Tumblr post, Gaiman provided some exciting updates on the new episodes. In response to a fan asking "Is Sandman's script already written for season 2 and have you been involved in overseeing it?" Gaiman replied that while not all of the scripts are finished, he and the writers are currently in the process of writing them, he has one hand in supervising the script for the series. What We Know About The Sandman's New Episodes

While the plot of the upcoming episode has yet to be revealed, both Gaiman and the Sandman cast have teased possible future narratives as scripts are still being written. Gaiman has repeatedly expressed his excitement about bringing Delirium, the youngest member of the Endless, into the series, and said he's looking forward to taking on the role. Boyd Holbrook (Man of Corinth) and Jenna Coleman (Johanna Constantine) also teased a possible return of their beloved characters. Coleman even hinted that Constantine might produce her own Sandman spinoff in the future, an idea Gaiman also testified to, though neither the parties nor Netflix have confirmed official plans.
It was also recently teased that just as the fourth season of Stranger Things was split in two, the next chapter of The Sandman will receive the same treatment. Peter Friedlander, head of Netflix US and Canada series, has said that "everything is on the table when it comes to 'The Sandman,'" including the show's format. Netflix also said the show's renewal won't be considered a season 2, but Just a new series of episodes.
With fans around the world pushing for a Sandman renewal, it's more exciting than ever for the series to get new episodes. There's speculation that filming on new episodes could begin in early 2023, but since the script isn't finished, it could be a while before new Sandman content is released. Many longtime fans of the comics attribute the show's success to Gaiman's continued involvement, and with the author announcing that he's been instrumental in writing the new series' scripts, the next chapter will undoubtedly continue The Sandman's dominance on Netflix.
