Mortal Kombat 2 Theory Reveals A New Sub-Zero (Not Just Noob Saibot)
Bi-Han's death in Mortal Kombat in 2021 heralds both his return as Noob Saibot and a new Sub-Zero: his brother Kuai Liang.

Bi-Han might not be the only sub-zero that could appear in Mortal Kombat 2. Many important Mortal Kombat fighters were defeated before the tournament even officially began, as Outworld tried and failed to sabotage Earthrealm's chances of winning the final Mortal Kombat match. But that doesn't mean they're gone forever. Mortal Kombat characters tend to be brought back to life in various ways.
In the Mortal Kombat video game series, characters such as Shao Kahn, Sindel, Kung Lao, and Liu Kang all suffered brutal deaths, but still managed to return thanks to magic, necromancy, time travel, or other timeline shenanigans . Bi-Han is famous in Mortal Kombat history for returning as the ghost Noob Saibot when he was killed by Scorpion while he was still known as the original Sub-Zero, and it looks like the Mortal Kombat movie franchise could follow the same pattern. If true, this would also help introduce a brand new Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat 2.
Mortal Kombat Set Up Sub-Zero Becoming Noob Saibot In MK2

In the Mortal Kombat video game, Hanzo Hasashi a.k.a. Scorpion burns sub-zero to ashes to avenge himself on Cryomancer. But similar to Scorpion, Bi-Han isn't dead. Instead, Quan Chi revived Bihan, and Bihan's ice Power is replaced by the ability to manipulate shadows. Even though he owes Quan Chi a second chance in the underworld, the only thing driving the now emotionless Bihan is his hatred for Scorpion. Calling himself Noob Saibot, Bi-Han began serving Quan Chi and Mortal Kombat 2 potential villain Elder God Shinnok.
Similar to the game, Hanzo kills Subzero at the end of Mortal Kombat 2021 in revenge for killing him and his clan hundreds of years ago. Hanzo achieved this after descending to the Netherrealm and returning as Scorpion, suggesting that Bi-Han may have a similar opportunity. Mortal Kombat 2 could delve deeper into the Netherrealm and introduce Quan Chi, who may be collecting fallen warriors for his army of undead ghosts. Hanzo Hasashi has already had his vengeance in the first Mortal Kombat movie. It's time for Bi-Han to appear in the sequel.
How There Could Be Another New Sub-Zero In Mortal Kombat 2

When Bi-Han became Noob Saibot in the Mortal Kombat video game series, his younger brother Kuai Liang stepped forward to avenge his brother by donning the mantle of Sub-Zero. However, he eventually distanced himself from Bi-Han and sided with the champions of Raiden and Earthrealm Defeat Shao Kahn. Unlike Bihan, Kuailiang was driven by justice rather than revenge, which made him the grand master of the Lin Gui family and heroically rectified it. In fact, Kuai Liang even made peace with Xie Zi, further dividing the brothers.
Mortal Kombat 2 may not have had enough time to develop Kuailiang's complicated relationship with Bihan, but it could have introduced him as the new Zero. Until Bi-Han returns as Noob Saibot and confronts him in a future movie, Kuai Liang will likely side with Earthrealm and is unlikely to ally with Scorpion. One possible obstacle is Kuai Liang's age, as he needs to stop aging centuries ago, or be resurrected today in order to fight. However, Outworld could find a way around it, as Mortal Kombat 2 could establish Kuai Liang as Bi-Han's descendant. The latter option fits well with Cole Young's status as Scorpion's scion and successor.
A New Sub-Zero Makes Sense For The Mortal Kombat Franchise

Mortal Kombat wouldn't be the same without two of its most famous characters. So if Mortal Kombat 2 resurrects Bi-Han as Noob Saibot, adding Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero seems like a reservation The face of franchising simultaneously shakes up the status quo. The introduction of Kuai Liang gives Bihan and Scorpion the opportunity to develop their animosity without ruling out the Sub-Zero mantle, and considering Kuai Liang is a more heroic character than his brother, Mortal Kombat 2 could also give Sub-Zero A new character in the live-action Mortal Kombat universe in the form of the Champion of Earthrealm.
Without Kuai Liang, the conflict between Scorpion and Sub-Zero in the Mortal Kombat movies could have stalled in an endless cycle of revenge killings. Also, with Scorpio and Zero on the same team, at least temporarily, Mortal Kombat 2 can focus on developing new villains like Quan Chi, Shinnok, and Shao Kahn who can provide an exciting addition to the exciting Scorpio/Zero An ideal grounds for team battles on the big screen. And Noob Saibot's loyalty to Quan Chi and Shinnok will make this conflict more interesting.
