Stan Lee's History With The MCU Explained

Lee has long been pushing his character to appear on the big screen. Early on, the only production companies that would adapt his character were television studios. This led to the creation of The Incredible Hulk TV show with Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby, which ran for five years. Other adaptations haven't been so lucky, with the Doctor Strange TV movie, the Captain America movie, and the Hulk spinoffs about Thor and Daredevil not getting any traction. A TV show was made about Spider-Man, but it was panned, and even Lee expressed his distaste for bland adaptations.
Following the failure of the film Howard the Duck, Lee had difficulty starting the film adaptation. Until Blade and X-Men are released. Soon after, Spider-Man, directed by Sam Raimi, was released and led to the development and success of other major Marvel movies. When Kevin Feige was brought in as the head of Marvel Studios, Lee fully supported his intention to create a similar shared universe. to comics. Lee also has a habit of making cameos in movies, and Feige not only continued that tradition, but also appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 confirms a popular fan theory that Lee is actually the same character who appears in all the films.
Despite his death, Lee continues to be recognized for his work and participation in the success of Marvel Comics and the Marvel Universe. While there are rumors that Marvel will somehow revive his cameo tradition after his death, that seems unlikely and could be seen as disrespectful. Gunn and the rest of the Marvel cast and crew have tremendous respect for Stan Lee and the joy he brought to readers and viewers around the world. With the release of a new Disney+ documentary, no one seems to be forgetting the Marvel Comics writer.
